Welcome to my blog! Last year, I won the inaugral Brisbane Open House Photography competition and was featured in the Courier Mail. You can view the images here.
This morning I was invited to attend the launch of the Brisbane Open House event at the Queensland Museum. The 2011 BOH is set for 1 October and they’ll be opening up more super secret locations for the public to view. And as a teaser, they let us research the preservation in the restricted area on the 6th floor. I was able to witness millions of rare animals and insects preserved in bottles. On the downside, I couldn’t take photos in those areas since the collections are priceless.
Unfortunately, on Open House Day (1 Oct) I’m booked for a wedding at Customs House so it’s likely that I won’t be entering.
Pencil this date into your diary because it’s really worth going to. Plan your day carefully as it’s hard to visit all the mapped locations (the queues can get quite long!) and most importantly, don’t forget your camera, tripod and waterbottle.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with on 1 October!
