Michelle & Mark Wedding Photography @ House of Laurels, Maleny

We met Michelle and Mark for the first time in October, 2011 at a bridal showcase at Botanicals Cafe located at the Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens. Something must have clicked between us that day as Michelle contacted us to cover her wedding soon after. About a year later, we shot their beautiful wedding. It was great fun, and I could not stop smiling around the playful groom and the brothers as we all shared the same style of humour 🙂 There are many many fun, outrageous shots from the boys that are not appropriate for your viewing.. but believe me, they are EXPLICIT! I can’t even get that grin off my face right now.. We had lots of fun, and Michelle and Mark sent us a thank you card made from our photos! Love it! Thank you

March 2013…..

And finally it is time for www.oliverkuo.com.au to come out of hiatus! Months of  inactivity on our blog/website does not mean we have disappeared. It simply means Oliver Kuo has been busy doing what we do best, taking photos and taking care of the business side of things. With the Queensland Brides Wedding Expo coming up this weekend, it is the perfect excuse for me to come out of hibernation. Don’t be shy, come say hi, and …eat some pie? (okay.. I know I am not a poet… leave me alone.. I just wanted something that rhymed..)  Visit us at our market stall at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre at South Bank. The bridal expo runs from Friday 22nd March 5:30-9pm, Saturday to Sunday 10am-4pm. (for more info please visit http://www.queenslandbrides.com.au/expo/ )

Let’s cut to the chase,  I am going to post some of the most “liked” photos from our facebook fan page and some of my personal favourites from our long absence.

Watch this space, as I have managed to fit blogging into my calender!

Oliver Kuo… Awesome photos! Always see something special in your photography. You are very good at what you do. Keep the photos coming!
If I met you before I got married, I would have got you to be the photographer for our special day.

Krystle & Luke Wedding Highlight Film

I’ve been trying to write this blog for a while now, getting stuck after trying to come up with a great first line to introduce Krystle & Luke. I thought that if I could come up with an eye-opening first liner, the rest would follow automatically. But there are just so many things I could say about Krystle & Luke, that I don’t know where or how to start. We spent a day getting to know Krystle & Luke filming their pre-wedding film which was played at their reception. There was just so much love everywhere. Like in the trees. In the rain. In the birds singing…but okay, there’s a disclaimer involved, not your sappy sort of love, but the kind that gives you the vision that Krystle & Luke are going to be like this even when they grow old and grey together, the way it should be :).

I’ll let you discover for yourself their story as told by Gary, Krystle’s Man of Honour.

Emma & Michael: Pre-wedding Shoot

I’m still behind on the blogging (there are still so many weddings I haven’t yet blogged), but I’ll make it up to you with this post I promise! For the past few weeks it has been madness… shooting on the Gold Coast, then at Maleny then back on the Gold Coast.. finishing up on a few album layouts, meeting new clients and we also attended a wedding expo on the Gold Coast.  So in between all of that hectic-ness, we spent a morning with the super awesome Emma & Michael. There is something so effortless about these two. They make walking through the mud look like an art.  Anyway, I won’t give too much away, because you’ll find out more after we shoot their wedding in November!

Emmalea + Tony : Brisbane Powerhouse Wedding

Emmalea and Tony are easily one of the bravest, most easy-going couple we’ve come across. I think down-to-earth is an understatement. They’re more like genuine beyond the word genuine. We could sit there for hours talking to them, picking their brains for planning trips to really awesome places.  They’ve been on some crazy adventures together. On the day of the wedding, Tony was telling us stories of their trip to Colombia, which involved trekking, guns and guerilla warfare…we were completely lost in their stories! Inspired by their trips to all these places…I went to flight centre recently to try get some info on planning a short trip to Tibet, but it was quite obvious the travel agent had no idea what she was talking about. And when we were talking to E + T about this, they gave us so much priceless info that my brain is about to explode with re-planning everything! Below, you’ll notice their little mini-dachshund slinky who keeps Emmalea company when Tony is away for work. And you know how people say that dogs take on their owner’s traits…it’s quite obvious that Slinky takes after a bit of both Emmalea & Tony’s traits. Slinky is quite the lady, she’s very inquisitive and is so clever that she can even tuck herself into bed like a human!

And then, halfway through the reception…the following events happened… If your name happens to be the talented George Wu, please cover your eyes now. If this had happened to another bride, I would have expected that Bridezilla would have unleashed at that instant, and ducked for cover…. but Emmalea is truly one of a kind, and she has this amazing ability to view everything in such a positive light….that I couldn’t help but giggle with her as I snapped these images.

We had the most delicious beef cheek for dinner- I quizzed the chef for where he sourced it! If you know anywhere else to get beef cheek, please, please, PLEASE let me know!

I also couldn’t help getting onto the dance floor and breaking out some of my own moves. Thanks so much for having us Emmalea & Tony. As you can tell we had a blast.

With love from, Oliver, Chaddy & Jason.
