Thank you to Susan and Ben, who got me off my lazy chair. I had the opportunity to shoot a small and intimate wedding. The ceremony was at the Brisbane registry, and the reception was at Malt Dining. The couple was just overflowing with love and laughter.
Daddy, I want a long dress too.
Olivia was invited to be the flower girl at Welbert and Gigi’s Wedding. That was just the beginning of my worries, on how to bribe her to walk down the aisle properly, how to behave nicely at the wedding, how to be well mannered at formal sit down dinner.. and the list goes on.
It has been a long time for me to be a guest at a wedding. Years of being a wedding photographer, has meant weddings have meant work. Preparing my daughter as the flowergirl and attending a wedding with the family is.. actually.. harder work and more stressful than working haha.. I began the day by popping some Nurofen and Panadol.. as I woke up having a massive migraine from a night filled nightmares of what could go wrong at the wedding.
All stress aside, Olivia performed amicably. “Only” had to bribe her with one chuppa-chup lollipop, a bag of grape fruit gummies, and some Japanese milk lollies.
Below are some happy snaps that I took with a Canon 77D with a Tamron 16-300mm Zoom lens and a Canon 40mm F2.8 Pancake lens in the evening. Definitely not my usual wedding arsenal, but it performed OK, mind you I was juggling this compact Dslr camera, a bottle of beer and an erratic-3-year-old-sugar-high-flower-girl.
Congratulations long time friend Welbert and Gigi. ㊗️百年好合
Happy Birthday and Congratulations on your Wedding!
This year is full of surprises, wedding dates that are not on the usual Saturday and Sundays.
Earlier this year, we shot a wedding on Valentines Day, and this time, we shot the wedding on the Easter Monday, also the Bride's birthday! Happy Birthday Carina. I should have charged double time as it was a public holiday.. hm.. haha.. just kidding.
Maybe I should have done that as well.. so it will make the anniversary dates a little easier to remember.. XD
It was a simple wedding ceremony at the Pandanus Beach at Manly. But the simple backdrop showcased two people happily in love with each other.
I love it.
PS. Brought out the Canon tilt-shift lens for some shots. Haven't used it for a while, quite refreshing to say the least.
Happy Valentines = Happy Wedding Anniversary
Valentine's Day is recognized as a significant cultural, religious and commercial celebration of romance and romantic love in many regions around the world. So for Cindy and Nick it is ever so fitting to get wedded on this special day.
We were joined by Channel 9 News reporter and video crew to capture and share this lovely occasion. I had my 3 second of fame?!?/air time on Australian national TV broadcast.
